Grandpa's Garbage Truck...

...is WAY COOL!  OOOOO....AHHHHH!

Lubby and Grandpa scouting for the Garbage Truck.  He patiently waited for a good half hour.  Who says three year olds aren't patient?  HA!
Check it out...it picks up the garbage cans with it's own arm...and dumps it into the front bucket...
...then it puts down the can and picks up the front bucket and dumps it over it's head and into the back of the truck.  WOW!
I wonder if my son is unique in his love and fascination for garbage trucks.  Maybe he will work for sanitation someday...His engineer DadE says he will design newer and cooler trucks!  HA!

Thankful for Thanksgiving!

We had a wonderful time....
...snuggling Grandma....
...writing on our new notebook paper and clipboard...
...having DadE retrieve our robot's "shooter" from under furniture multiple times...
...listening to Uncle Jess read us our new Christmas stories...
...listening to MomE read her childhood favorites aloud....and so much more...I will unpack the pictures over the next few days!

Emmer-bean and Lubby...are LOVING their new puppy...Scruffy Sassafrass!  She is a good girl.  Both Sweet Boobahs are obeying the rules very well.

Be gentle.

No chasing the puppy.

She has RIGHTS...when she is eating or in her bed...leave her alone!  That is her space!!

Love her and talk nice...that's easy!  For more fun details..come BLOGGING ALONG!

Library Winner...Chicken Dinner!

Emma entered the library coloring contest...sort of on a whim one library morning...and she WON!  She got a cute certificate and Christmas book.  It's a seek and find book...and she has kindly shared with her little brother.  She DID find them all herself FIRST...so as to have the advantage of "helping" him when he can't find them quickly!  HA!
And yes, they actually are having baked chicken for dinner...cuz MomE and DadE are going on a date!  We get chocolate fondue...yup, it's tuff to be a kid!

Teaching Little Ones to Organize...

It was WAY past time to hoe out the kid's rooms.  They were overflowing with stuff...and no one was playing effectively with any of it.  Okay, and I'll admit that I caught a few episodes of Hoarders on Netflix and totally got freaked out.  I'm determined to teach some of my mad organizational skillz to my offspring.  Hahaha!  I also really want to teach them that their value is not in STUFF...it's in God's love for them!!

So, I had Emmer-bean spread out all of her purses/bags/totes.  I told her she could choose 12 to keep...and the rest were "going to the babies."  That's a term she came up with when she "mailed" her pacies "to the babies" a few years back.
She was very happy to have her dress up clothes in one tub, her accessories (wands, crowns, shoes) in another, and her purses... all separated.
Mr. Lubby-de-rotten-cuteness...helped sort the play food from the play dishes.  They are having a good time with that all sorted.  They each were wearing an apron and making a "feast" when last I check on them.
Emmer made her bed, and we got rid of all her baby blankets except a select, handmade few that she can use with her babies.  Now they all fit nicely in her basket.
Lubby helped make his bed...it's still quite the work out for him...so MomE helps so he doesn't get discouraged and give up.  Then we "parked" his trucks around the room...and put them into containers.
Then, MomE vacuumed...and what could possibly be more fun than using a pie server to draw a "bobot" in the carpet fibers.  Serious funtimes people!!!
Soon, I'm going to tackle the books...they need to be organized...again.  Overall, it was a successful day...no one cried...not even MomE!

Thankful for...

I'm thankful for the coloring sheets their great grandmother sent a few weeks back.  They are still enjoying coloring them.  Emmer-bean colors the apples and then Lubby-man gets to "eat" them!
Here is our THANKFUL wall of delightfulness...see, turkeys...see Emmer-bean's tribute to the sole remaining anole/lizard, Guacamole.  She is thankful for him!  She put it right up against the glass of his aquarium...and he freaked out...so we hung it here, instead.
I made "thankful hand turkeys" with the kids...and had them tell me things they were thankful for...as you can tell...I did NO prompting...and therefore, MOME is not on the list!
His says...I'm thankful for...animal crackers, fire trucks, cars, school buses, garbage trucks, christmas trees, diggers, dump trucks, and airplanes.
Her's says...I'm thankful for...grandma's, lizards, flowers, grandpa's, princesses, butterflies, pencils, presents, and markers.

Tough Turkeys

It's been one of those days.  Occasional moments of peace...broken up by intense spells of defiance and disobedience...and discipline.  MomE is exhausted...and crying out to God for new strength for the afternoon.  Why am I tired?  I'm trying to obey God myself!

Whoever spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him.  Proverbs 13:24
Folly is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of discipline drives it far from him.  Proverbs 22:15
Don't fail to discipline your children. They won't die if you spank them.
Proverbs 22:13
Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid.
Proverbs 12:1
Discipline your son, for in that there is hope; do not be a willing party to his death.
Proverbs 19:18

Man-o-lantern! A tradition is born!

Our friends came over the other night...him (electrician) to fix our light and her (mommy) to talk to me and get black-eyed susans for landscaping.  We had planned to carve pumpkins...so hauled them out...the guys really got into it...
 ...yes, power tools were employed....
...and we thought...this is too funny...it should be an annual event...a tradition...
...thus, MAN-O-LANTERN was born!  Next year, we will have the husband's pick the patterns...and work in secret (other room)...the wives will judge (not knowing their husband's design)...part of it will be based on how many tools are used!  HAHAHA!
Trick-or-treat was on Sunday night...so the kids went when they got home from church.  It was cold...and dark...sorry the princess-ballerina-fairy and dragon picture didn't turn out so well!
FYI--cherry tootsie rolls have egg and whey and milk products in them...made Lubby very sick...had to employ the Benedryl...and he threw up everywhere.  Funtimes!  Er, NOT!  Scares MomE...very!

Great Sources of Entertainment!

We are blessed...oh so very VERY blessed....
...to have yearly free autumnal entertainment....
...and get all our leaves sucked up when we rake them to the curb.  YEAH!  No bagging here!  LOVE IT!!!!  *little happy dance*
