Tube Tuesday!

A...B....C....Scripture!

2009 has begun and MomE made some resolutions for the kids too! We are going to start working on memorizing verses again! If they can memorize songs...they can memorize verses! So, here we go again! As some of you might recall...I tried this when Emma turned two...and it didn't work well!

So, I'm going to put a picture with each letter...and see how we do. I'll share them with ya'll too!

A....
Isaiah 53:6,
"ALL WE LIKE SHEEP HAVE GONE ASTRAY."

B...
Ephesians 4:32,
"BE KIND ONE TO ANOTHER."

C...
Ephesians 6:1,
"CHILDREN OBEY YOUR PARENTS, FOR THIS IS RIGHT."

Jammies...yeah!

The kids got new jammies from Nana and Papa in the mail. They were so excited that they insisted on putting them on right away! Caleb was a bit confused by this proposition but quickly got over it! Aren't they cuties?...Awwww!

They were so excited when I tried to get a picture from the staircase...they laughed and screeched...and this was the best one...They looked up very briefly!

A Coo Me, Peez!

Teaching my kids manners is always a treat---especially those meals they scream through! HA! Emma seems to really enjoy manners and routine right now. She's even getting into keeping her napkin on her lap and elbows off the table. Caleb, however, thinks all this attention makes for a great game...as I'm sure you can tell by his hammy expression!
He very nicely says, "Tank Ooo" and "Uv Ooo"
--that's thank you and love you for those who don't speak toddlerese well.
We decided he was ready to say "Excuse me, please" instead of just demanding, "Down!" It amazes us how rotten he is about this...and there has been a lot of suppressed laughter around these parts. He goes through the whole gamut...his cutest smile, a sweet "tank ooo", a few "downs", and then finally...."A Coo Me, Peez!"

His sister is most helpful. She tells him to hold her hand for prayer, to close his eyes (he usually sits there grinning), "shhhhhh", and "Say, Amen Cawub!" So helpful!!!

Cutest Fireman Award!

My little man gets the Cutest Fireman Award!! In my very unprejudice opinion he makes the best sound effects and rides the cutest truck! I'll try to catch this on video for ya'll soon!

Marriage Monday....Humor....

January's Marriage Monday topic is, "Humor of Christian Marriage."

I actually talked to Darren about being stumped on this one. I know we laugh a lot together...but for some reason it seemed hard to put down in words. We decided that it was built on trust. We trust each other...enough to be total dorks together and enjoy it!

We often laugh about how he's added to my vocabulary since we married...with words like viscous coming out in normal conversation! Caleb's nose is just running like crazy...nasty, viscous, green stuff! I've also developed enjoyment in his TV watching style; the "witty, sarcastic" comments he adds to shows and commercials. Although, he knows it annoys me when I'm watching "Pride and Prejudice," for example! That's probably why he made me coupons for my birthday...with one being for chick movies watched without the witty, sarcastic comments! He knows me well!

Our children have greatly increased the humor in our marriage. Not that we laugh AT them, of course! SNort...hahaha! Noooo, we hold our napkins up in front of our faces...or quickly turn around or leave the room! HA! We enjoy listening to beginning speech, the funny things that come out, and the cute things they pretend! We delight in them.

Here are two funny examples...Darren is always looking for scientific stuff to teach them...so he was showing them how to roll stuff down the angled plane....and they remembered that it looked like the slide outdoors and viola you have an indoor slide! Very cute! Just this morning we got a chuckle out of Caleb helping his Daddy shave! Awww...hehehe!

Humor is important in marriage. We'd be angry and crying without it...and who wants that!? We try to not take everything too seriously and enjoy the humor where we can!
