When you were born as a baby to Mommy and Daddy, you became a member of our family. God gave you physical life and gave you to our family. That was your first birth. There is another birth that only God can give.
This other birth happens when God makes a person come alive
spiritually. When a person begins to know, love and obey God, that
person has been born again. It is not something that a Mommy or
Daddy can do for their child. God's Spirit gives this born again
life.
This new life is not something that people see, like seeing a newborn
baby. God does it and it is invisible to our eyes. Something new comes
to life inside a person. When God makes a person born again,
that person becomes a member of God's family.

Last Day of School!!
Here she is on her first day of Kindergarten...
...and here she is on her LAST day of Kindergarten!
She's gained a lot of knowledge...a few inches...and lost two teeth! What a big girl!
Here's most of my crazy bus time crowd...I will miss seeing them each morning...praying about their tests...rejoicing over their A's.
We are thankful for JACK...the best bus driver in the whole wide world. We pray he isn't thinking of that awful "r" word...retirement....We hope and PRAY to see him next year!!

Congrats to our little graduate!
There's just something about Pomp and Circumstances that brings tears to the eyes. *sniff, sniff* Emma received awards today... for counting to 100...and for perfecting sound systems..,
She also got two special awards...The Miss Manners Award: " Thank you for showing respect and being a great role model in Kindergarten. I'm proud of you!" Ms. Rausch shared that Emma is the epitome of this award. Evidently, when interrupted she says, "Excuse me, I was talking...can I please finish what I was saying? Thank you!"
...and The Most Improved Award: "You learned so much this year! Thank you for working so hard. I'm proud of you!"
Her kid brother was hilarious...He loves her classroom. He has another year to wait...but he's gonna love Kindergarten he just knows it!
Our adorable little graduate! *sigh*
I'm so thankful for Emma's teacher Ms. Rausch...It was her first year teaching and she got a challenging assignment; two classes with assorted levels of development and two different locations. She taught Emma's class in the morning and across town in the afternoon! But she had tons of energy and was sweet and wonderful with the kids! Best of all, she really prepared them for First Grade!
We also loved Mrs. Robertson the classroom aide...She loved Emma too! She was zany and fun...and incredibly helpful. By the end of the year she thought of what Ms. Rausch would need next...like clockwork. Awesome to watch a well oiled machine!
Emma loved Mrs. Pyle the Speech Pathologist who works with all Kindergartners on sound systems...a computer program that helps them with pre-literacy sounds, etc. Considering the fact that Emma loves to sing...and many were put to song...this is a no-brainer. She thought it was the best!

DadE the Science Guy!
Quick...lock up your cupboards! Just kidding...well, sort of. Even though DadE is very tired on his current schedule (nights, days, etc.) he is still a lot of fun!
It was fun to make layers of corn syrup, oil, rubbing alcohol, water...with food coloring for added fun factor.
We are working on independent pouring...
Check out the strata!
Stir...stir...emulsify!
STAND BACK...don't worry...it just looks like that in the picture. I told him that anything that created fumes or exploded had to be done outside.
Next, they dropped things into the layers to see where they'd end up...er, floating.
And again...anything was fair game...There were almonds, pistachios, pennies, dimes, chips...sigh
Shake it...shake it!!!
It takes how long to separate back out!?
Woooooooo!
Hey Caleb, If you drop it from up high it splashes ick everywhere!
This was the "test" glass....for some reason the layers didn't do the same thing. This is a scientific mystery that will bother Loverbrains for some time to come. HA! Looks cool though!

Thoughtful Teacher's Gifts!
Thoughtful gifts...are hard to
come up with to be honest with you...but occasionally I'm blessed
with epiphanies! It's always nice when they turn out nicely...sometimes
it's one thing in your head but different when it's all said and
done...This was also cheap...which is nice too!
The canvas' were on sale 2 for $3.99 at Hobby
Lobby...construction paper (cents) and red felt (again cents)...use of
Sharpie marker!
The verses are all his memory verses from the year!
On the back we thanked the teachers for
their faithfulness!
Emma wrote her own name...and on the back I wrote...that
great teachers
touch hearts and minds!

SPECIAL EDITION: Toothless Truth!
Look what happened at our house!!!
After much wiggling and angst...the first tooth is FREE!
It's front neighbor is likely to follow in the weeks ahead. Let the toothlessness begin!
MomE decided to play tooth fairy. In a gentle moment this morning, as a sleepy Emma rejoiced over her shiny quarter (*sigh, inflation!)...we talked about how the Bible is our only source of real TRUTH.
We talked about how it's so fun to play Santa...but he's really DadE. Then we said, the tooth fairy is also a fun game to play...but *it's a secret* it's really MomE!
This is important because we talk about Jesus alot...and although we have never seen him either...he is VERY real! In fact, he's God's only Son! Faith is not a fun game that we play...it's a real and amazing JOY!
We do call it a *secret* because many of her friends don't know the truth about Santa, the Tooth Fairy...or Jesus. For now, it is their Mommies and Daddies job to tell them the TRUTH.
