My little warrior!

When I went to get Caleb up from quiet time....I found him at battle...
Who do you think will win?
I'm going with the side with the tanks.
Some one likes order...his name is Caleb!

Caleb's Grandma Quilt

Grandma Denny and Aunt Jess came for a visit!  With them, they brought the long awaited Caleb Quilt.  My Mom made a duckie quilt for Emma when she was born.  True to all things "first" she zipped through it...and Emma had it soon after she was born.  Caleb...has had to wait.
Now, no being hard on my Mom.  She created an amazing airplane quilt...bi-planes on the sky with ribbon propellers and a little plane with a banner....OH, and did I mention...these quilts are HANDQUILTED!
Around each cloud on that border...wowsers!  It's a work of art...and love!  And...
....He ADORES it...he couldn't be more tickled!
His sister's been teasing him for years with hers...and now he has his quilt!
It was worth the wait!
BUT, note to self:  when I have grandchildren I will be machine quilting their quilts!  Just sayin'...hahaha!

Partying with Putt Putt

We celebrated Caleb's FIFTH birthday at Grandma and Grandpa Well's house this  past weekend!
They took us putt putt golfing!  It was LOTS of fun!!
For the first time EVER (and probably the last time)...MomE beat DadE...by 5 strokes!
Of course...all putt putt golf places are cute...but Emma just loved this one!!

Later, they snuggled Grandma and watched "Tangled"....
I have to say...this orange chair gets a lot of lovin'!

Here's his ROBOT cake!
He's SO CUTE!  Oooo....happy birthday to my boy!
Our aging family...hahaha!
Here's they are in their new shirts...I LOVE the colors!!!

MomE Modeling Memory

I've been trying to get back into the habit and routine of memorizing Scripture. I started the year with a BANG...slamming out the first chapter of Colossians...but then I got behind and discouraged.

SO...I was writing out my verse...and of course, anything to do with paper, my girl is there She needs to be practicing her writing this summer anyhew...so, she got her SS verse...and...
Ironically it was, "Be ye doers of the Word and not hearers only."  James 1:22.
I need to be living it out...each.and.every.day!  There are little eyes upon me.

Spontaneous

I'll fully admit that Spontaneous is not often used to describe me...but when a dear friend from our Cinci days called to say she was passing through Indy...we threw together a lunch-play-chat date while having a great time ...and without any premeditation or uninhibited manner.
In fact, our kids played together quite well considering they've only met a handful of times.
Yes, they were our friends pre-babies...which is pretty cool that they remember when we were still fun...and er, spontaneous!
Real hugs are always best!  )))HUG(((

Homemade Body Paints

In our search for fun on yet another scorcher of a day, we made body paints.  VERY easy...I played with a few ideas I'd read online...all were too soupy...shaving cream just breaks down too fast...SO, I tried cold cream (Noxzema?)  VOILA!
Recipe:  2 generous Tablespoons of Cold Cream...1/2 t. cornstarch...2-3 drops food color!
Color test...don't worry, no staining that bath time or kiddie pool won't remedy!
Stir WELL!
Paint on generously!  Be careful with paint around the eyes...I warned the kids that it would sting worse than soup...they took note and were careful!
Being my allergic boy...he was unsure of it on his face...so after this picture we took it off!
Rosy girl...she only used pink and purple...so it's hard to see the paint in these picture!
My hands were covered...and *ahem...my poor camera...*sigh!
Happily coated Sweet Boobahs!
Caleb was pretty unhappy when it washed off...He thought it would stay on forever...sheesh...nobody tell him about Tattoos, ok?!
