My Mom pointed out something to me that I'd never noticed before. I just thought my kids were driving me crazy by always wanting me to entertain them and craft with them...but she said that it was because I was such a creative Mom to begin with; I'd sort of created my own monster. Hilarious!
But somehow...that helped me have a better attitude about them bugging me this week that they're on Spring Break. Although I need to set limits on how much I entertain them...and encourage them to use their own imaginations...I also can delight and enjoy crafting with them. God has given me two delightful gifts.

Kid's Museum Fun-ness!
I know I may be annoying some of yous by posting these from my phone...then coming in later and enlarging and adding commentary but...well, beggars can't be choosers.
We are blessed to live so close to the Children's Museum of Indianapolis...
*Remember to always take a safety pictures...including their shoes...just in case...**
I love that the exhibits are always changing...Here is a mummified dinosaur (exhibit opened today and we were first in line...totally accidental...woohoo) ...very, very cool...you can see the skin, tendons, and stomach content.
Kids are so cute when they're looking through magnifying glasses...Ca-lubby is looking at rabbit bones. There was fur too. This exhibit was all about animals...
Yup...very very cute!! Yes, I know they're mine...but...ahhh...the cuteness! Emmer-bean is looking at a geode in a cave part of the animal exhibit.
Butterflies...pretty! She wants to know if we could make our own pin board...and squirmed and said...nah, lets just watch them fly! Hahaha...

Teaching compassion...
Tonight we are going to funeral calling hours. Our friend's mother passed away. I knew that I needed to prepare my children for this...we've done it before...and each time it is hard. But, today I was blessed as I realized that teaching compassion is sweet. My Emmer-bean has got it...
...I told her we wouldn't have much time to talk...that we'd just hug our friend and say we loved her. She wanted to make a gift of love.
Wrapped with a Hello Kitty bow, no less. How blessed I am that rather than get them a sitter or shield them by not attending...we chose the harder path to teach them compassion. I know that tonight will be a blessing...although I'll be honest I'm praying it's a closed casket. Explaining *again* that they aren't sleeping, that it's not scary, that they are not present in their body...well...it's a hard concept for adults...and makes even us uncomfortable.
That's why I'm focusing on the loving of those left behind.

Caleb cuts the Cheese!
I just couldn't help myself...that pun wanted to be used!!
Considering he doesn't eat dairy this was very amusing!!
Emma started drawing fruit and he started drawing cheese and asking about all the different kinds.

My favorite was the blue cheese...white with tiny blue veins of mold...just as I'd described it!

Snowy Sunday
When snow (and ice) kept us from church today we stayed home and sang along to praise songs...
We read books about God's marvelous creation...
And used our favorite Action Bible to read from God's Word!

Holes burned in pockets...
...otherwise known as allowance day.
Caleb got more cars...and Emma got a journal that lights up and a fuzzy pen!
