Vacation...

We're off on our summer vacation to Nana and Papa's house in upstate NY. It will be a loonnngg drive so pray for us! Here are a few sweet memories to hold you until we get back!

New Game Show?

I think we've come up with a new game show idea. "I'm Gonna Getcha" is comprised of running around the dining room table repeatedly while screeching (you guessed it) "I'm Gonna Getcha." The object is to catch the other person, to giggle hysterically, and to lap your little brother as many times as possible. Emma is great at this game--and actually enjoys getting caught by Daddy!

Pretty Boy?

Emma was playing dress up today and Caleb was very interested. He brought me a pink Tutu and said, "Me, me?" Soooo, I put it on him. He's such a cute little bugger. Sorry, I believe that children should use their imaginations and not be burdened with our societal "issues" at such a young age. He had a great time. He and Emma swirled around in their dresses and laughed up a storm. Such a pretty boy, awwww!

HOT Zoo! Phew!!

Summer time has finally hit Indianapolis. Darren and I got the kids out bright and early this morning to go to the zoo. It was fun but HOT--boy, were we glad to be leaving after lunch time as the scorcher persisted. Phew!

Emma was quite a chatter box at the zoo today. See here as she points out the "horse"--er, zebra to her Daddy!
Caleb was hot and not that impressed with the giraffes. Boy, is he cute though, huh? Well, HUH??? He didn't much care for the stroller today.

...WOW--they get to lay in the mud all day. Why does Mom get so upset about the sandbox? HA HA HA!
After our picnic lunch the kids were "bushed." Emma decided to pull up the blanket and lay down. Caleb promptly laid on top of her and said, "Ahhh, wuv wuv!" I tell you this kid talks. It is weird! He also says, "No no no" as he goes towards the DVDs that he knows he can't touch but I'll save that for another blog.

AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! NO NO NO!!!!!

I was having a think and thought I'd share...

God is so patient with me. I'm such a control freak--and to Someone who is in control I'm sure that is very annoying. Caleb's peanut allergy has caused me much "controlling" of late and I've been scouring and planning out everything. This is good in one respect--God did give him to me to care for and protect. However, God put a funny in my path today to remind me that ultimately HE is in control and I have to trust Him.

I was weeding (almost wrote "happily" but that doesn't quite fit) today, while my kiddos played in the sand box. Oh how they love the sand! I was yanking away--taking out my frustrations and thinking about Caleb's allergies and guess what I found?

A peanut shell---ahhhhhhh!

Right there in the flower bed. At first I was really upset.

My poor baby isn't even safe in his own yard.

Stupid squirrels!

This is yet another reason to not like squirrels.

Praise God, Caleb did not find this shell and suck on it or this blog might be filled with tales of the ER. Also, praise God for allowing me to finally see the humor in it. To sarcastically sass the squirrels and realize that He is in control and He will help and protect my baby boy. On the same note--I will be looking for more shells in the yard!

Monday Mayhem...

Well, I'm back. Did you miss me?? I went to visit my parents in Ohio--long trip (alone) with two boobahs! They were good--I'm just tired.

I came back to a beautiful pergoed floor (my husband's so great) and a really messed up upstairs bathroom (previous owner, grrr). Called plumber--waiting...

Today I'm scurrying about trying to get everything done--unpacked, cleaned up, etc. AND I took NO pictures at my parent's house so I thought I'd include this cute one of the kiddos that I'm making into bathroom art. Other bathroom--that I'm painting. Projects, projects--tis the season. Gotta go--think the plumber is finally here!

Summer Reading...

Emma and I are part of the summer reading program at the public library. I just LOVE free fun! Emma's favorite thing is getting a Papa Murphy's personal pizza ticket. She watches them make it--we take it home and bake it--and she squeals and waits--Here she is enjoying her reward. She has read almost 100 hours this summer so far! WOW! I girl after her mommy's heart!

Caleb and Daddy woke Emma up from her nap. It ended up being more of a Daddy dogpile. They were having such a LOUD and WILD time that I thought I'd grab the camera to share it with ya'll.
